Edie Gilbertson, Interior Designer

Originally from Milwaukee, Edie received a B.S. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She later studied painting and interior design at the University of Minnesota. While living in Paris for two years she took oil painting and absorbed much about the French culture. She worked as an administrative assistant at Stanford while raising one son and eventually returned to studies in design and painting. At Foothill College she received an A.A. degree with Highest Honors, she completed classes at the Palo Alto Art Center, and oil painting courses at The Academy of Art in San Francisco, the Pacific Art League of Palo Alto and the Continuing Studies Program at Stanford.

During Edie's extensive travels and studies she always had the desire to be an interior designer. In May, 2007 she received two awards from the Canada College Interior Design Department. One was First Place (ASID) for 'Critical Thinking', for a design of a Vacation House on the Northern California Coast. The second award was for 'Presentation Techniques II', advanced presentation techniques using color, where she designed an upscale boutique and cafe.

Edie's love of color, painting, form, and design all come together beautifully in her career as an Interior Designer.

She lives with her miniature poodle named Henri Matisse and enjoys frequent gym workouts, occasional tennis, skiing and attending the San Francisco Symphony.
